Exams and holidays

Mon Dec 1, 2008, 2:53 AM

Hi everyone!

It's holidays now and my results came out yesterday! I had been praying to do well in my exams and the results were pretty amazing, really. For all of those exams I really wasn't as prepared as I could have been. Didn't know about some key topics and couldn't remember some of the ones I had studied but I did strangely well. Some of the exam questions I understood for the first time WHILE I WAS DOING THEM IN THE EXAM! Talk about small miracles!

First exam I went to, I did a bit of cramming just before we went in and I was like "eeeeee... if the exam questions are as hard as these practice ones, I'm in TROUBLE". Then I got in and the questions were pretty easy. Second exam I did, I got into the exam and saw the questions and was like 'eeee... I'm really not going to do well". Then I did do well (mostly). Last exam I went to, I felt really unprepared (and probably was), but whizzed through the multiple choice and did relatively well on the short answer too. Amazing.

What's more, I got a scholarship for research over the summer holidays. ^^ Apart from research-type activities in for one of my assignments this past semester, this is my first shot at real research. My topic is to do with using information from online communities to provide personalised, contextualised services to mobile device users. It's kinda broad and ambiguous at this point, but apparently it's supposed to be like that and specificity will come as it progresses.

So, as you've probably guessed, things are going very well for me at the moment. ^^ Thank God!

Hope you're all well,

Piney.

Play for me, Minstrel, my love,
play a harp, her neck is of gold,
in a dance, which covers my soul,
I'll become the mirror of my thoughts...
Hmmm. Your location and association with both pinecones and tortoises makes me wonder if I know you...?

I've discovered that if I don't have a signature people don't read the last sentence of my comments, disregarding it as my signature. Thus this exists to remedy the situation.
