As for the backstory to them... I've not worked it out just yet. From the snippets I've mostly settled on, though, the young fellow in the armour is Texonn - a human landed with his master in a strange land inhabited by strange peoples.

Strange peoples such as the bug boy flying in the back ground. I think those stripes project some sort of force field that help his people aviate. Not human, obviously. I think the men among his people are the better fliers while the women are more adept at using those antennas - perhaps for mind reading? Maybe emitting some sort of electrical current through a person's head and interpretting how it comes back? Hmm...

Oh... and other strange people is represented by the girl with the long-necked-whatsit on the right hand side. Not sure exactly what her people is called, but they're not quite human either. Mostly human... but fully because humans don't produce odours that animals identify as 'friend'. Neat, eh? I suspect her people are peaceful, farming folks who use animals a lot in their everyday lives.

I'm really happy with this pic, but I'm none too sure how I pulled it off. I haven't been able to replicate that sort of standard in my consequent drawings of these three (though not for lack of trying). The whole image got finished so quickly and (or so I think) skillfully. Normally it takes me ages to pull off something as large and complex as this, but this time, it just flowed, making it a fluke. Like I said in my journal, I'm not sure whether it's a present from God to start me on a new story or just a pretty distraction to keep me from working on better stories/projects... I'm hoping it's the former. ^^ Guess I'll wait and see.
